Cookie Policy

This policy explains the mandatory cookies and related browser storage used by the Weivo website.

Effective date: August 5, 2026

1. Scope

This Cookie Policy applies to https://weivo.online. The Weivo mobile app does not use browser cookies and does not require an account or login. It may use device storage to provide app features and remember information you enter. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity described below apply to the website, not the mobile app.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Related technologies, such as local storage, can also keep information on your device. Cookies may be set directly by Weivo or by a service involved in a feature you choose to use.

3. Cookies we use

Weivo uses cookies to operate and protect the website and to measure website usage:

PurposeWhat it doesTypical duration
Authentication and sessionKeeps you signed in when you voluntarily use Google sign-in on the website.Session-based or for a limited persistent period.
SecuritySupports secure sign-in, request validation, and protection against misuse.Usually session-based or short-lived.
Cookie noticeRemembers that you accepted the required-cookie notice so it does not appear on every visit.Up to 12 months.
Google AnalyticsUses cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users, maintain session state, and measure page views and website interactions.Up to 2 years by default, subject to browser limits.
Microsoft ClarityUses cookies including _clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, and SM to connect page views, generate heatmaps and session recordings, and provide aggregated website analytics.Varies by cookie and browser.

Google Analytics loads only after you select Accept in the cookie notice. Google may receive technical and usage information including page URL, interactions, browser and device details, approximate location derived from IP address, and traffic source. We do not send your weight entries, notes, name, or email address to Google Analytics.

Microsoft Clarity also loads only after you select Accept. It records website interactions to produce session recordings, heatmaps, and usage insights. Dashboard health information, account details, and weight-entry dialogs are explicitly masked so their contents are not uploaded in Clarity recordings.

4. Why there is only an Accept button

Weivo currently makes acceptance of its required cookies, Google Analytics cookies, and Microsoft Clarity cookies a condition of website use. The notice therefore provides an Accept button rather than separate reject controls. Selecting Accept records your acknowledgement and enables both analytics services.

If you do not want these cookies stored, you should stop using the website. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but sign-in, analytics, and other website features may stop working correctly. Deleting the weivo_cookie_consent_v2 cookie will cause the notice to appear again.

5. Local storage

The website may use browser local storage, which is not a cookie, to retain unsigned-in weight entries and preferences on your device. Local storage normally remains until it is cleared by you, the browser, or an app feature. You can remove it through your browser's site-data settings, but doing so may remove saved entries or reset preferences.

6. Updates and contact

We may update this policy when our website or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page.
